Combined VHR Optical and SAR tasking provides a reliable solution for comprehensive insights, unaffected by weather conditions or daylight variations. By utilizing a single tasking source for both datasets, it ensures synchronized collections, which help in eliminating data gaps during monitoring missions. This seamless integration allows for continuous and accurate observation, enhancing the overall quality of the data. Additionally, the inclusion of SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technology offers the advantage of penetrating clouds and capturing data in all weather conditions, providing deeper insights and complementing optical data for a more complete analysis.

PERSISTENT MONOTORING
PORT OF TARTUS, SYRIA
Multiple intelligence and maritime authorities regularly monitor the Port of Tartus in Syria. For this particular project, weekly 30 cm resolution images were needed to monitor activy at the port. In the three month window shown in the graphic below, there were multiple difficult weather windows that prohibited optical satellite imagery collections.
Before EUSI’s access to Umbra SAR imagery in February, the monitoring was incomplete inside of the cloudy weather. However after access to the high resolution SAR imagery tasking from Umbra, EUSI was able to suppliment the collections with 25 – 50 cm SAR data which allowed for accurate avtivity monitoring within the port.
